Pre-Hospital Medical Care Directive

A type of health care directive, a pre-hospital medical care directive directs the withholding of cardiopulmonary resuscitation by emergency medical personnel in the event of cardiac or respiratory arrest.  It does not, however, permit the withholding of other medical interventions.  It must be printed on an orange background and be either letter or wallet size.  In addition, it must also be in the form provided by Arizona statute.  A pre-hospital medical care directive is effective until revoked or superseded by a new document.
